Operations Network Engineer (CCNA) – Saffron Walden – NEW

Focus IT has the pleasure with working alongside this very well established Electronic Design Consultancy. My client’s services cover various sectors from communications, defence, automotive, industrial, scientific and medical.
The Role:
Due to planned new business growth we are looking to recruit an experienced network management and computing engineer with to join my clients new venture company, now one of the leading providers of Street Lighting Remote Control and Monitoring systems. My clients system uses radio communications to link street lights back to a central database and web server in order to allow street lighting to be managed in a sophisticated and energy efficient way. MY clients systems are either hosted by our customers or by us (mostly using outsourced hosting facilities).
The role is a combination of systems installation, commissioning, and management, and customer support. It will also involve configuration and management of the associated infrastructure, such as Firewalls, Routers, Switches and Servers. This will be for both customer and in house hosted networks and also management of my clients Office IT network. It is anticipated that the role would be primarily office based although may involve occasional site visits.
Key Skills Required:
Knowledge of Linux operating system (System administration)
CCNA / CCNP Certified
Configuration of switches/routers and firewalls
Experience of design, management or test of large IT systems
design or deployment of communication infrastructure
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have around 3-4 years commercial experience in Network infrastructure support. You will be Cisco certified to at least CCNA level and have extensive exposure to routers, switches and firewall.
