Once again Focus IT has the pleasure with working alongside this well established IT Solutions Provider. My client has been in business for over 10 years and is industry recognised for their service levels.
Due to industry growth and winning new business my client now requires Service Desk Engineer/Analyst to complement their existing team. The role will require you to provide 1st / 2nd line support to client’s in and around the Milton Keynes area and to maintain and support users in a Microsoft Windows environment along with Small Business Server (SBS).
Exchange 2007/2010 (adding/setting up user level)
Active Directory (adding/setting up user level)
MS Office install & Support
Managed Services / IT Outsource Experience (Preferred)
The role requires you to be a problem solver and work under pressure. You will be the first point of call to clients and therefore showing confidence and initiative is required for this position. Working for a managed service provider you will be the first point of call for various users and will be speaking to different level people within companies and therefore a good standard of customer service is required.
Any Microsoft Certifications including MCP in server 2008 or above is highly advantageous. However if you do not possess a MCP then you must be willing to obtain the qualification as my client will financially assist in obtaining this.
You will be an experienced Service Desk 1st / 2nd line Support Engineer with 2-3 or more year’s commercial experience, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems with some exposure to Windows Servers (Inc SBS /2008 /R2). You will have strong customer service and communication skills and will be expected to communicate clearly with both end users and business managers through all steps of the troubleshooting process.
Experience of Terminal Services, Symantec Backup Exec & Symantec Anti-Virus, Routers and Firewalls from the main stream brands. A Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing would be great, along with VPN experience to include site to site IPSEC tunnels. Experience with Mobile Devices such as Blackberries and Windows Mobile powered handhelds.
Beneficial Skills: Citrix Presentation Server, VM WARE, Hyper-V and Medical Systems.
Previous experience in the SME market place would be greatly advantageous to your application, along with experience working for a Managed Service Provider or out sourced IT Company focussing on the SME Market.
