They have been in Business for over 15 years and are well established and known within their industry. They have recently won some high profile contracts taking their business from national to international and therefore growing immensely.
My client is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to compliment the small but established Technical team. Due to planned growth we are now seeking a Systems Administrator to complement the existing IT infrastructure team. The Systems Administrator will maintain the computing environments by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring system performance; identifying issues; fine tuning systems and generally assisting with end-user systems support. This position will include optimization, expansion and documentation of current platforms as well as the introduction of new systems and functions. Provide primary and advanced end-user support.
Leadership Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to manage communication with other teams and end-users, escalations and requests helping everyone understand status and resolutions to issues along with building cross organizational relationships.
Work in tandem with the senior IT manager in the UK.
Ability to manage priorities and workload while setting realistic and manageable expectations for project and task completion all the while adjusting as needed based on the business requirements.
Must be capable of working in a 1st, 2nd and 3rd line capacity as and when the role requires, once brought up to speed with the companies systems, have the flexibility to take part in the on-call and patching Rota with the rest of the international team.
Technical Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates working knowledge and experience in CentOS and a high level of understanding in Windows Server. Must be competent in all aspects of the OS including but not limited to Active Directory; clustering; troubleshooting; installation; maintenance; security; registry; patching. Deployment and recovery strategies; Experience in Remote Install Services a plus.
Demonstrates knowledge of Vmware ESX Server in highly available environments.
Demonstrates knowledge and experience working with Windows 7. Must be competent in all aspects of the OS.
Demonstrates knowledge and experience working with Exchange 2010. Must be competent with the use of mail systems in a clustered environment. Also must understand Active Sync and have a reasonable understanding of popular mobile devices (ie iPhone, Android, Blackberry etc) Must be able to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs to the mail system.
Demonstrates knowledge and experience in the management of storage systems. Understanding of iSCSI SAN/NAS based on NetApp, EMC Celerra/Clariion a plus. Understanding of MPIO and MS iSCSI initiator a plus. Strong knowledge of RAID technologies and methodologies.
Demonstrates knowledge of networking fundamentals. Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and WAN / LAN a plus. Knowledge of Brocade and Dell switch gear a plus. Understanding of Sniffer (ie Wireshark) technologies a plus. Understanding of VPN technology (IPSec / SSL VPN). Understanding of firewall technology (Cisco 515E / ASA-5510)
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Administrator who also has exposure to Windows server administration and Linux support environment. You will have commercial knowledge of VMware ESX Server, HP SAN management, Windows all versions, Linux, Window domain administration, Exchange 2010 support, Cisco expertise VLANS / BGP, Cisco ASA firewall management, Network troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Systems Administrator with experience in Windows Server administration as well as some Linux. Any exposure to Active Directory, Exchange or MS Operating systems will be highly beneficial towards your application.
You will have around 3-4 year’s commercial experience as a Systems Administrator and will have a background in 3rd level support. This is an excellent opportunity for a Systems Administrator seeking to utilise your experience within this rewarding and dynamic organisation.
