2nd line Support Engineer (Managed Services) – Altrincham – NEW!!!

The Company:
Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established IT Solutions Company. Due to demand they are seeking a 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer to complement their existing support team.

The Role:
Due to industry growth, we now have a requirement for self-driven and highly motivated person to come in and build on their expertise in the Support sector and complement the existing team
Key responsibility’s:
The role will consist of resolving helpdesk issues, as well as being involved in project work from design to implementation.
Ensuring incidents and service requests are logged, resolved and updated within the SLA’s
Troubleshooting and resolving problems associated with software and hardware for both local and remote customer environments,
Resolving server crashes and unplanned reboots,
deploying Microsoft Updates,
Troubleshooting server-side event logs.
The nature of the business requires a high level of technical knowledge, flexibility, common sense and initiative.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position will have at 2years + experience within the support sector within service desk environment.

Key skills are as follows:
Microsoft Windows Desktop ( 7/8/10 ),
Administering & supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016,
Administering & supporting Office 365,
Administering & supporting Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2016,
Networking Experience ( routers, switches & firewalls ),
Network Administration & Data Backup Applications,
General Networking Support & DNS/DHCP/GPO Administration,
Active Directory – Create and Manage AD Group Policies,
Virtualisation – Hyper-V/ VMware / VDI
Experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later, knowledge of how to backup and restore databases, use of SQL for queries and updates.

This role is a 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer and can also be known as a Support Analyst, Helpdesk Analyst, 2nd Line Engineer, Technical Engineer, IT Support Engineer and Helpdesk Engineer.

Any qualifications such as MCSE, MCSA, MCITP or CCNA would be highly beneficial towards your application

Any exposure to the Managed Service sector would be highly beneficial towards your application.

Location: Altrincham
The role is based in Altrincham and is commutable from Broadheath, Sale, Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, Macclesfield, Northwich, Liverpool, Wigan, Preston, Crewe, Stockport, Wilmslow, Runcorn, Chester, Hyde , Stretford.

The salary: £18,000 – £25,000
