Helpdesk Analyst (Networking) – Hitchin – NEW!!!
The Company:
Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established networking and communications Company. Due to demand they are seeking a helpdesk analyst to complement their existing support team.
The Role:
Due to industry growth, we now have a requirement for self-driven and highly motivated person to come in and build on their expertise in the Networking sector and complement the existing team
Key responsibilities:
- being the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email;
- qualifying and documenting the problems raised by customers;
- performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions;
- determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers;
- where necessary, escalating the problem to our senior engineers;
- keeping customers aware of the progress with regular updates.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position will have at 1years + experience within the network sector.

Key skills are as follows:
- a good understanding of Internet protocols, subnetting, UDP, TCP, etc.
- attained or be working towards Cisco “CCNA-Routing and switching”, HPE ”ASE”, a Network+ Certification from CompTIA or an equivalent accreditation.
- the ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- an enthusiastic, customer-orientated approach.
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills (which must include fluent spoken and written English);
- the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
This role is a 1st Line Technical Support Engineer and can also be known as a Support Analyst, Helpdesk Analyst, 1st Line Engineer, Technical Engineer, IT Support Engineer and Helpdesk Engineer.
Any qualifications such as MCSE, MCSA, MCITP or CCNA would be highly beneficial towards your application
Location: Hitchin
The role is based in Hitchin and is commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Dunstable, Bedford, Watford, Stevenage, Harlow, Biggleswade, St Alban, Hatfield, Leighton buzzard, Edgware, north London and all surrounding areas of Hertfordshire
