The Role:
This is an exciting and varied role suited to any Mid-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA).
Working within a team, the principle role will be to assist the Manager\team in the delivery of BI solutions, either as part of a project delivery or day to day support tasks. The SQL BI developer will be able to understand the technicalities of the role and be able to contribute effectively to the overall team objectives.
The candidate would report to the Data Services Manager and work as part of a close-knit team. The role will provide the opportunity for the right candidate to upskill in all areas of SQL. The candidate will have the opportunity to start or extend on their Microsoft Certification to assist in continuing to maintain the companies Microsoft Partner status.
Role requires you to do the following:
Proven DBA and support skills
Strong, logical investigative skills. Ability to learn and understand.
Good verbal and written communications.
Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.
Key Skills Required:
Microsoft SQL Server (SQL, T-SQL, Procedures etc.)
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Develop SQL Views, Stored Procedures and Functions used by our Reporting Solutions
Strong, logical investigative skills.
Experience in using source control (SVN\TFS)
Provide ad-hoc analysis of data
Proficient in MS Excel
The competent use and understanding of standard office IT applications
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a Mid-level SQL Server Database Administrator who is passionate about technology. Able to provide BAU database management and 2nd – 3rd line support with some out of hours work. The candidate will be working closely with the software development and support teams.
Technical experience should include; backups\restores, security, high availability, understand replication and experience with performance tuning techniques. The candidate will be required to install SQL Server, implement database maintenance plans, make optimisation suggestions, deploy releases to client databases as well as produce accurate technical documentation.
Your Skills and experience:
2+ years’ SQL Server experience required.
Assisting the Support Team as required for solutions that have been developed by the team
Liaise with business users to understand, document and develop requirements for BI solutions.
Perform other SQL related tasks within the Data Services team

The Location:
The role is based in Wickford, Eseex and is commutable from Basildon, southend, Brentwood, Chelmsford and East London.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £35,000.00 to £40,000.00
