The Company

 

Once again Focus IT has the pleasure with working alongside this well-established small IT Solutions Provider.  My client has been going for 10 years and is industry recognised for their service level.

 

The Role

 

Due to industry growth and winning new business my client now requires Service Desk Engineer to complement their dynamic existing team.  The role will require you to provide 2nd line support to Managed service client’s in and around Milton Keynes to maintain and support from around 5 – 100 users in a Microsoft Windows 2008/2012 / Exchange 2007/2010 environment along with Small Business Server (SBS).

 

Ensuring the smooth running of our client’s systems and network infrastructure ensuring they get maximum benefits from them. Activities may include:

  • Hardware configurations and software installations.
  • Manage and work to internal and customer SLA’s, escalating any concerns.
  • Create and maintain customer specific infrastructure documentation.
  • End to end ownership of problem resolution.
  • Managing client expectations through clear communications.
  • Take responsibility for own continual professional development, ensuring up to date industry and technical knowledge.

 

Please note my client is currently a team of 6 members who are growing once again.  They are seeking the next team member and continue the growth pattern they are experiencing.

 

 

The Candidate

 

You will be an experienced Helpdesk 1st Line Support Engineer with 2 or more year’s commercial experience, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems/ Windows Servers. You are required to and have some commercial knowledge of Windows Servers and Exchange Servers.   Experience of Symantec Backup Exec & Symantec Anti-Virus or Citrix, Draytek, Blackberry would be an advantage.  An MCP/MCSE/MCITP qualification would be highly desirable and beneficial towards your application but not essential.

  • Windows Server From NT – 2012 (admin)
  • MS Exchange 2003,2007,2010
  • Network Protocols
  • MS Operating Systems
  • Remote desktop support
  • Configuration and modification of routers will be beneficial
  • Backup recovery software
