Software Support Engineer / Technical Support Consultant
Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established Email Marketing Company who are seeking a Technical Support Consultant to complement their existing team.
You will join the team responsible for providing support for the entire company infrastructure. You will receive full job training but will ultimately be responsible for supporting a wide range of technologies from day one.
Responsibilities will include the following:
• Monitoring daily/weekly/monthly activities
• Completing day to day jobs
• Handling queries from 1st line support and
troubleshoot where possible
• Updating various reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
• Occasionally dealing with clients in supporting and
resolving issues on applications/products
• Escalating issues to developers and updating release
documentation
• Monitoring Campaign Master (UK) Ltd infrastructure
• Monitor Email Deliverability for Campaign Master (UK)
Ltd customers
To qualify for this role you must have strong troubleshooting skills using log files or any other monitoring tools. Should have knowledge of server backups using third party software such as Symantec, Acronis etc. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of SMTP, FTP, SFTP, HTTP, and DHCP. You will have knowledge of DNS, including DNS records, DNS Authentication and DNS Delegations. Basic exposure to SQL Server including SQL Queries, SQL Jobs and Stored Procedures. You should also have an understanding of Windows Server 2008/ 2012. You must have good documentation writing skills in order to write troubleshooting guides.
Any understanding of MTAs (mail transfer agent) in email sending processes would be beneficial to your application.
This role would also be suitable for a Computer Science Graduate who has completed an industry placement.
This is a Technical Support Consultant and can also be known as a Software Support Consultant, Email Marketing Support Engineer, Software Support, Software Consultant, Helpdesk Analyst, Graduate and Technical Support Engineer.
