C# Developer (ASP.NET) – Dumfries – NEW
Focus IT is very pleased to announce that they are working along side this market leading Health care provider. My client has many arms to their business including Dental, Medical and Veterinary and are ranked 303 in the Fortune 500.
Due to planned business expansion my client is looking to expand the development team and are seeking a Developer to join the small dynamic team. The role requires you to be responsible for technical design and development of Business Systems applications primarily using the J.D.Edwards Xe development tools, but also utilising:
IBM i languages (CL, RPGLE, DB2/UDB SQL)
C# and .NET, to support
A number of web services
Some ASP.NET web development with Microsoft SQL Server 2005+
‘Transform’ forms software
The role is very much team-focused and will be based in Dumfries, SW Scotland.
There are a broad range of projects with many technical challenges to be involved in.
Your key responsibilities are:
Estimate, Plan and Execute programming tasks
Maintain existing systems
Document all systems in accordance with business requirements
Work with national and international IT team members to provide suitable technical or functional solutions where appropriate
Proactively advise senior management of any issues that may affect the profile of the department and/or put at risk its security.
Conduct Knowledge Share session with the development team to minimise islands of knowledge
As well as clear problem-solving and analytical skills, we would like proven experience in a development environment. We would ideally like knowledge and experience with JDE version Xe or above, especially in distribution systems modules. Experience with the JDE toolset is also preferred. IBM i (‘AS/400’) experience would be an added bonus.
Experience with .NET programming, especially C#, would be very useful as would a web development background within ASP.NET or other. Java skills are also useful but not a prerequisite.
