Focus IT are very pleased to be assisting this industry recognised IT Services Provider. MY client specialises in MSP solutions for clients from SME’s to enterprise level.
The Role:
My Client are looking for talented and experienced individual’s to join their dynamic and skilled Service Desk Team. The ideal candidate’s will have skills specialising in Linux and will have a strong desire to develop and succeed; as such they will invest and provide training in relation to storage and infrastructure which could be a start to, or continuation of, a career as an industry certified storage professional.
Role Overview: 
The Service Desk Analyst role provides first line support to my clients Customers; resolving incidents, raising and working on problems, troubleshooting, and carrying out administration tasks on enterprise class systems.
The role can include occasional site visits to assist with issue resolution or information gathering. It is a shift base role that currently runs between 08:00 and 18:00. Evening and weekend work is also required on a regular (rota) basis.
Key responsibilities:
Provide skilled administration of complex environments
Ensure internal/external processes and procedures are followed to guarantee consistency and quality of service
Manage the lifecycle of all Incidents
Fulfil service requests, typically minor changes or requests for information.
Alert on any failed components of entire backup/storage infrastructure and manage as an Incident within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Represent the company to our Customers in the most professional way and continually ensure the delivery of operational excellence within every engagement
Skills and experience required:
A good understanding of, or certification in, common operating systems ideally specialising in Linux / UNIX
Experience of working in a service desk environment
Understanding of IT principles and technologies
An impressive ability to learn new technology and apply that knowledge
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Dynamic and positive approach to work with a strong desire to succeed

Location: The role is based at the head offices in Godalming, Surrey and is commutable from Guildford, Farnborough, Reading, Berkshire, Basingstoke, Berkshire.
Salary range: £20,000 – £27,000 depending on experience
