Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established IT Software Company. The client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to compliment their existing team.

As a Business Analyst within IT you will be responsible for assisting the current Business Analyst to act as a bridge between IT development, the business and end users. Working within a small team of developers you will be responsible for ensuring that they deliver functionality the user values. As a Business Analyst you will be an important step in the development process and critical in ensuring that software is delivered on time and to budget. You will be initially working on the delivery of a new and innovative software solution in the financial and legal services arena.

Fundamental to your success will be the ability to see past a user request, understand the real requirement and be able to communicate the solution to the user and the development team in language appropriate to each audience.

Required

• Experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment
• Experience of eliciting user requirements using a range of techniques
• Experience of writing functional requirements documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving abilities

Useful

• Experience of working in an Agile environment (Scrum)
• Exposure to the property market including the financial and legal aspects
• Exposure to web application and .NET development processes
• Competent with all MS Office applications; in particular Excel, Visio and SQL
• Experience of using BPMN for mapping business processes
• A technical degree or Business Analyst qualification (i.e. BCS or ISEB)

To qualify for the Business Analyst role you must have at least 1-3 years Business Analyst experience. The Business Analyst requires a blending of business and technical skills however not necessarily an in-depth expertise in either. To be truly effective, the analyst has to understand the customer’s business, know their pain points, their needs, and their strategic plans. A full understanding is necessary to be able to adequately convey this to the applications team.

This role is based in Thame, Oxfordshire and is also commutable from Aylesbury, Leighton buzzard, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Dunstable, Tring, Luton, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, Berkhamsted, Chesham, High Wycombe, Abingdon, Kidlington, Winslow, Bicester, Didcot, Henley on Thames, Marlow , Watford, Hertfordshire, Reading, Slough, Berkshire and North London.
