PHP Developer/ LAMP – Milton Keynes– £50k – NEW
Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established IT Solutions Company.
Due to growth of projects the client is seeking a PHP Developer/ PHP Programmer to complement their existing development team. The role is working within a small, friendly, development company, and is a varied role with room to grow alongside experienced developers. You will be working on the full development life cycle from initial inception through to completion. This is a pure programming role.
To work on my clients PHP based web applications we requires a collection of skills including:
The use of PHP to implement server side functionality. Knowledge of modern object oriented PHP is essential.
the creation of web pages using HTML;
the application of CSS to style that HTML;
MariaDB (MySQL) to hold the data on the server; and
Linux with Apache to make it all work.
All of my clients web sites are based around a template system implemented in PHP which interacts with various CMS — mostly my clients own and WordPress.
For this role, we are looking for someone who understands all aspects of LAMP based web application development but with particular emphasis on server side development in PHP. You will need to understand front end development using HTML/CSS/JS as well. We use cloud servers for all our development and hosting as well as web based project management, email and phone systems. To join the team you will:
have good experience of backend application development particularly using PHP;
have used MySQL based databases and understand the problem of optimising queries on large and complex datasets;
understanding of development tools like IDE’s and version control;
be self-motivated and be able to interact with other team members remotely via IM, web, phone and email;
Although the position is based in Milton Keynes, buckinghamshire. My client will make extensive use of online systems including Google Apps, Redmine and others.
This is a permanent position and my client are open to all forms of flexible working including reduced hours per day and a shorter working week. They can also accommodate unconventional hours as they have clients in Asia and North America. Salary will be negotiable based on experience and working time.
